Riverfront Rustic Cabin
IMPORTANT VISITOR SAFETY INFORMATION
Reminders regarding your reservation:
1) The campground is in a floodway. Please do not ignore any alerts or emails from us during your stay (phone/emails). In the event of flooding or flood alerts, depart the campground immediately through the gate and do not return unless agreed by management of Pisgah Riverbend. NO areas within the gated area are safe during a flood. For safety reasons, your reservation is subject to voluntary cancellation by you or mandatory cancellation as determined by management due to safety. Any unused reservation portions will be refunded.
2) We HIGHLY recommend you visit and create an account and water alert for the French Broad River at Rosman, NC - USGS Water Data for the Nation. We suggest placing that alert at the 6’ mark. The camping area tends to flood after the 7’ stage; we encourage the 6’ height as your safety zone and buffer to allow time to evacuate. However, if heavy rain and flooding is forecast, don’t wait on alarms. Evacuate before the rain event. Please notify us if you elect to evacuate so that we can process the refund.
3) There may also be the need for you to voluntary cancel your reservation due to high winds or mandatory cancelation by management for wind forecasts.
4) Some sites along the river have steep banks with deep water below. Diligence and caution are to be used when near the water edge, especially at night and if children are in your party.
5) We cannot list all the risks associated with nature:
• Snakes- There is a possibility of poisonous snakes (copperheads/rattle snakes). Be careful when walking, especially at night.
• Bees- There is a potential for bees in outdoor environments.
• Swimming- We do not encourage swimming in the river.
• Potential water hazards. We do NOT prohibit children, but discourage booking if children cannot recognize potential dangers. You are expected to supervise your children.
• The area may include poison ivy. Be careful about coming into contact with this plant. We have included a few photos to show the plant in the campground area:
